Ahmedabad: Met department has issued heavy rain warning for isolated places in coastal Saurashtra and neighbouring union territory of Diu in next 24 hours even as light to heavy rain lashed some places across Gujarat today.

Some places in Porbandar received over two inches of rain today while Amreli got around 1.5 inches, Rajkot around an inch till 8pm tonight. Kandla in Kutch district also saw nearly an inch of rain. Parts of Sabarkantha, Vadodara, Valsad, Surat also saw some rain. Ahmedabad which saw around nearly two inches of rain in some parts yesterday saw some spells of light to moderate rain today as well.

Met bulletin has mentioned a weak system/upper air cyclonic circulation over Gujarat region and neighbourhood but it was only 1.5 km above sea level and was not strong enough to cause much rain.

The spells of heavy rains predicted for tomorrow were also likely to be somewhat moderate in nature.

Met has predicted some more spells of moderate to heavy rain during the night. Ahmedabad was also likely to see some light rain/thunderstorm.
