Foundation stone laid for new Gujarat Bhavan in prime area of New Delhi

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today laid foundation stone for construction of new Gujarat Bhavan in Lutyens’ zone Delhi. The new building will be called Gujarat Sadan.

The new Gujarat Bhavan will come up over 7,066 square meter plot on Akbar Road where Congress party’s national headquarters is also situated.

According to the government, a 69-room facility along with meeting rooms, lounge and other modern facilities will be ready in a span of 18 months.

Gujarat government had time and again demanded a plot in New Delhi for construction of new Gujarat Bhavan. After becoming Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi cleared this long pending demand and allocated a plot in prime area of Delhi.

Speaking at the stone laying function in New Delhi today Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani thanked the Prime Minister. He also thanked various government agencies for granting all necessary permissions. He also thanked central government run construction arm National Building Construction Corporation(NBCC) for making design of the building.

Present Gujarat Bhavan is located on Kautilya Marg over 1418 square meter land.

New Gujarat Bhavan will be built with Dhaulpur and Agra stones. It will have a traditional look outside, but will have environment friendly, safe and intelligent systems inside.
