New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constituted the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) with Dr. Bibek Debroy as Chairman and Dr. Surjit Bhalla, Dr. Rathin Roy, Dr. Ashim Goyal as part time members. Shri Ratan Tawal, Principal Advisor of NITI Aayog will be Member-Secretary of this Council.

EAC will analyze any issue, economic or otherwise, referred to it by the PM and advise him thereon. It will address issues of macroeconomic importance and prese views thereon to the PM in either suo-motu or on reference from the PM or anyone else. EAC will attend to any other task as may be desired by the PM from time to time.
