Gujarat BJP announces details of upcoming Gaurav Yatras, a gathering of 7 lakh page pramukh

Ahmedabad: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) in Gujarat today announced the details of two Gaurav Yatras that are going to kick off in first week of October from Karamsad and Porbandar.

The first yatra will kick off from Karamsad town in Central Gujarat which is native place of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The yatra will be led by Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. It will be flagged off on 1st October in presence of party president Amit Shah, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani among others. This yatra will be in Central Gujarat zone for 6 days and North Gujarat zone for 7 days. It will cover total 76 assembly seats covering the length of 2262 km with 73 public meetings and 116 welcome meetings(Swagat sabha).

The second yatra will commence from Mahatma Gandhi’s birth place Porbandar in Saurashtra on 2nd October which is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. State party president Jitu Vaghani will lead this yatra. The yatra will kick off in presence of party president Amit Shah, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani among others. This yatra will cover Saurashtra and South Gujarat zones. It will cover 47 seats of Saurashtra zone in 8 days in length of 1509 km with 41 public meetings and 44 swagat sabha. In South Zone it will cover 26 assembly seats in 5 days in length of 886 km with 24 public meetings and 25 Swagat sabha.

In total two yatras will cover 4,657 km distance with 138 public meetings and 185 Swagat sabhas.

Chief Minister Rupani and party’s State and national leaders will address number of public meetings in the course of these yatras.

The yatras will conclude at Gandhinagar followed by a public meeting in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and national party president Amit Shah in which 7 lakh page pramukhs(party’s booth level cadres) will remain present.

Senior leader Gordhan Zadafia has been appointed incharge of Karamsad route yatra while IK Jadeja has been appointed incharge of Porbandar route of yatra.

These details were shared by Union Minister for Railways Shri Piyush Goyal in a press conference held at Sports Club in Ahmedabad today afternoon.
