Sushma Swaraj to interact with one lakh women from across Gujarat in Mahila Town Hall on Oct. 14

Modi led government, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will interact with one lakh women from across Gujarat in Mahila Town Hall programme in Ahmedabad on October 14.

The event shall be hosted by BJP Gujarat Mahila Morcha. It is scheduled to take place from 2.00 pm onward. Swaraj will interact with one lakh women from across Gujarat via video conferencing as well as in person from GMDC convention hall. The programme will take place on the model of Yuva Town Hall earlier addressed by BJP president Amit Shah.

Making this announcement Jyotiben Pandya, President of Gujarat BJP Mahila Morcha said as many as 108 sammelans by Mahila Morcha are completed in Gujarat so far.

Interacting to media persons, union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad spoke about Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Common Service Centre involving 33,000 women, 50% reservation in panchayat in Gujarat, women as External Affairs minister and Defense minister, gender justice, gender equality and gender empowerment under the Narendra Modi government.

Prasad said the slogan ‘Adikham Gujarat’ means Gujarat is on the firm path of development. He said the party which makes fun of development and country is making fun of them. BJP could give reply to Congress in its own language, but BJP hasn’t chose that path. BJP wants to lift the quality of discussion.

Replying a question about his department, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, ‘100 mobile manufacturing factories have come to India in last three years. We are going to set up a new incubation centre in GIFT city. Top IT companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys have confirmed that they are recruiting more and more as per NASCOM report. TCS has employed 2,85,000 in three years.’

Replying to NDTV journo who asked about layoffs in IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad asked, ‘don’t you have layoff based on merits in NDTV?’

Speaking about employment in reply to a question, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, ‘9 Crore Indians are funded Rs 4 lakh crore under MUDRA scheme. Among them 2.5 crore are first timer loan receiver for self-employment while others have probably taken loan for expansion, so they may have added one or two persons. I am not talking about job but about employability. Around 6 crore are employed through MUDRA only. 10 lakh are working in our Common Service Centre. Roads are constructed in 3-time higher speed. Rails are constructed, power sector works are underway, there’s employment involved in this all.’

In reply to another question Prasad said, ‘Modiji is ruling India for last three years, there’s not a single stain on it.’

Reacting to a question regarding former finance minister Yashwant Sinha’s anti-govt remarks, Prasad said, ‘what kind of language is he speaking? The party that made him finance minister, foreign minister, president of Bihar BJP, leader of opposition in Bihar, when he lost election in 2004, the party made him Rajya Sabha MP and made him national vice president.The party gave him all barring the posts of PM, President and party chief and he speaks in this language against the government and against Narendra Modi who has emerged as globally popular leader.’
