15 days parole for prisoners aged 60 and above on Diwali: Gujarat govt

By Jigar Purohit, Gandhinagar, Monday: Minister of State for Home Department Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja said that Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani has once again displayed a humane side of the state government by allowing the prisoners aged 60 and above to spend the five day festival of Diwali beginning with Dhanteras with their near and dear ones by approving their parole for 15 days.
Mr. Jadeja said that the state government is firm in its decision to ensure effective implementation of law and order. Along with this, the state government has also ensured for rehabilitation of the prisoners who have completed their jail term so that they can stand up on their own feet in the society. To ensure this, the government trained them with various skill development courses during their prison term.
The Home Minister announced that the government has approved a 15 day parole for all the prisoners except the ones accused under TADA, the ones who have appealed in High Court, prisoners belonging to other states or countries, prisoners accused under the CRPC Act 268, prisoners associated with terrorist activities, the ones accused of anti social activities, the ones found guilty in more than one crime, or the ones who have fled during their parole or have returned late after parole.
