The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) today passed an unanimous resolution regarding promotion of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi as national president of the party.

Party president Bharatsinh Solanki and whip of the party in Gujarat assembly Shailesh Parmar today informed this.

‘The resolution requesting the party high command to make Mr Gandhi, president of the party was passed unanimously in a meeting of all the PCC and AICC delegates of Gujarat convened at the party headquarters here today,’ Parmar said.

Parmar said that these delegates are entitled to vote whenerver election of the national president of the party takes place.

Solanki said that the resolution was addressed to incumbent president Mrs Sonia Gandhi. It has also been sent to her.
