Mumbai: Television show Khichdi will return for a third season, Mumbai Mirror reported. Khichdi 3 has begun production with its original cast, including Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta, Supriya Pathak and Vandana Pathak reprising their roles. Produced by Jamnadas Majethia and Aatish Kapadia, the latest season will also feature a couple of new actors.

“We started the Khichdi journey on Star Plus and we are excited to be back working with the channel,” Majethia told Mumbai Mirror.

The television show, which chronicles the adventures of an eccentric Gujarati family, made its debut in 2002 and continued for two years. It returned in 2005 as Instant Khichdi, airing on Star One, and eventually became the first Indian show to be adapted into a film. Pathak was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Hansa in Khichdi: The Movie (2010).
