PAAS leaders had said that they would revert in 3 days but I have no information after that: Sibal in Vadodara

Vadodara:

Senior Congress leader and former union minister Kapil Sibal, who had played the role of a legal advisor/expert on Patidar quota issue, today said that PAAS has not yet reverted to him after his meeting with its core committee in Ahmedabad in the late night of November 8.

Addressing a press conference Sibal, who arrived here today in the same flight from Delhi in which four of the PAAS conveners including Dinesh Bambhaniya who had led the PAAS team during the November 8 meeting with him were also present, said,’ I was sent to Gujarat so that I give suggestions to them and they could fulfill their wish (of getting quota). After the meeting that night which went up to 230am, the PAAS people told me that they will revert in two to three days but I have not heard anything from them after that. My duty was to give them suggestion which I have fulfilled. I can’t reveal as to what suggestion I gave them but I have not heard from them after that is all I can say,’ he said.

He said that now it was between them and the party to take decision.

To a query he said that he has no knoledge of any ultimatum by PAAS to the Congress but said that the situation was such that a result in the matter was bound to come.

Notably contrary to the claims of PAAS Sibal after the November 8 meeting, had said that he had not given any options but only discussed various constitutional aspects of the issue.

PAAS had claimed that they were given 3 options by Sibal and would revert in 3 days.

Now allegations were being leveled that the PAAS core committee members and its head Hardik was more concerned about Congress ticket for his supporters in Guajrat assembly polls rather than taking quota issue further quickly with the party.
