Mahesana has whopping 34 candidates in fray

Gandhinagar: Mahesana in North Gujarat is constituency with highest number of candidates in Gujarat elections this year. Mahesana as 34 candidates in fray including deputy chief minister Nitin Patel and former Lok Sabha MP and Congress candidate Jivabhai Patel. In addition to 34 candidates, there will be NOTA(none of the above) option. The Election Commission will therefore need to place 3 EVMs and VVPAT sets in all booths. Of total 34 candidates, 8 are Patidars, 7 are Muslims, 9 Thakors, 5 Parmars, 4 Prajapati and 7 others.
About other constituencies with highest number of candidates, Jamnagar Rural has 27 candidates, Botad 25, Jamnagar North 24, Viramgam 22. While constituencies with least number of candidates include Anand 3, Morva Hadaf (3), Jhagadia(ST) 3 and Gandevi(ST) 3.
