Highly surprised at the unnatural anger of Manmohan ji, why did he not feel angry when Aiyar called Modi ji Neech:Shah

Ahmedabad:

BJP president Amit Shah today said that he and the people of Gujarat were ‘highly surprised’ to see the unnatural anger of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh at the time of Gujarat election.

Talking to newsmen at Ahmedabad airport, Shah referring to Dr Singh’s strong reaction to PM Narendra Modi’s allegation regarding an alleged ‘secret’ meeting at the residence of Mani Shankar Aiyar in presence of High Commissioner of Pakistan and Dr Singh, said why Dr Singh did not feel angry or got concerned about the indecency of language when Sonia Gandhi called the then CM Modi ‘Maut Ka Saudagar’ (Merchant of Death) or scam after scam worth lakhs of crores were taking place ‘just below his nose’.

He said that Manmohan ji also did not feel angry or hurt for the insult of the high office of PM when Rahul Gandhi had publicly torn apart and threw the copy of an ordinance duly cleared by his cabinet.

He said that he has not yet seen any reaction of Dr Singh or his anger till date on Aiyar’s calling Neech to a highly popular PM (Modi).
‘Being angry was not the nature of Dr Singh but it seems that this time during Gujarat polls the pressure on him from Congress was too much. Because had anger been the nature of Dr Singh he would have expressed it when PM Modi was called Neech, or Sonia Ji called him Maut Ka Saudagar or when scams were going on under his nose or when Rahul Gandhi openly tore apart the copy of the ordinance,’ he said.

The BJP president said that he did not expect such politics from Dr Singh. He said that Dr Singh should himself clarify about the said secret meeting as the spokesperson of Congress Randeep Surjewala and Anand Sharma were giving contradictory statements about it first denying any such meeting then calling it a dinner meet and again going in denial mode. ‘The people have a right to know about it,’ he said.
At an election rally in north Gujarat recently, PM Modi had said that Dr. Singh and others held a “secret meeting” with Pakistani officials at suspended Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s residence likely to “influence” the outcome of the Gujarat elections.

Seeking PM Modi’s apology Singh has issued a statement saying he was deeply pained and anguished by the falsehood and canards being spread to score political points in a lost cause by none less than PM Narender Modi.

‘Fearing imminent defeat in Gujarat, desperation of Prime Minister to hurl every abuse and latch on to every straw is palpable. Sadly & regrettably, Modi is setting a dangerous precedent by his insatiable desire to tarnish every constitutional office, including that of a former Prime Minister and Army Chief,’ Dr. Singh said in his statement has said.
