5 including 2 of inter-state firearms smuggling gang nabbed in Gujarat, 8 pistol, one revolver recovered

Ahmedabad:
The Crime Branch of Ahmedabad Police has nabbed five people including two members of an inter-state firearms smuggling gang from Chharodia area here and seized 8 country-made pistols, one revolver and 12 live cartridges from them.
Police today said that Prahalad Prajapati, resident of Patan and his aide Dinesh Khatri resident of Kadi in Mahesana who were involved in buying illegal firearms from a supplier in Dhar district of neighbouring Madhya Pradesh for selling it in and around Mahesana and Patan districts for past one and a half years, were nabbed first with such arms and live cartridges.
After that three people identified as Nirav of Mahesana and Vijay Thakore and Amit Thakore of Patan who purchased weapons from them were also nabbed.
The arms were recovered from the personal possession of the buyers and sellers and their residences.
Attempt were on to nab one Pankaj Singh Sardar from Dhar from whom they used to buy the arms for selling it in Gujarat.
