Head of Umiyadham Sansthan and former MLA Vikrambhai passes away

The head of the trust running Umiya Mata temple (Umiya Mata Sansthan) of Unjha in Mahesana district of North Gujarat, the supreme religious body of Kadva Patidar community, and former MLA Vikrambhai Patel passed away late last night. He was 87.
His family sources said that he was admitted to a hospital in Ahmedabad around a week ago and was later discharged. He was at rest at the residence of his son Anil Patel at Gokuldham society in Unjha where he breathed his last late night yesterday.
His body, which was kept at his son’s place for last tributes on Visngar road at Unjha was later donated to Vadnagar Medical College as per his wish.
Vikrambhai was elected MLA from Chansama seat in North Gujarat during assembly election in 1975 as Kishan Mazdoor Lok Paksh (KLP) candidate.
Vikrambhai, who had taken charge of the head of the Umiyadham sansthan in October this year, had notably supported BJP government during resolution of Patidar agitation issue.
