10 months after ground breaking, Bharuch bus port project kicks off

Bharuch: Rs 92 crore Bharuch bus port project of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) will kick off on January 4 with start of demolition of existing old bus station. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had performed ground breaking of this bus port project on 7 March last year. The existing bus station traffic will be diverted to Bholav based regional office during the construction of new bus port.

The new bus port of Bharuch will come up over 34,583 square meter area. A four storey building of new Bharuch bus port will take two and half years time for construction during which bus traffic will be handled at Bholav. Bharuch depot attracts daily 300 bus trips traffic.

Rs 92 core new bus port will have facilities like game zone, multiplex, food zone, business centre, escalator and lift, doctor house, hospital, cybre cafe, digital information centre, separate facility for arrival and departure, library, rest area, 1.25 lakh square ft basement parking, special facilities for handicapped people, boarding and logging facility, separate parking for passengers and green building type construction.

For two and half years of construction, temporary bus station at Bholav has been set up with facilities such as 13 platforms, 6 offices/cabins etc.
