Surat school van fire incident:Driver booked for attempt to commit culpable homicide

Surat:
Police in Surat has lodged a case under section 308 of the IPC against the driver of the school van a fire in which had injured 4 students yesterday.
Police Commissioner Satish Sharma today said that during the investigation it has come to fore that driver and owner of the van, Vishnu Mishra did not stop the CNG run vehicle despite repeated complains of smell of leaked gas by the children in the van.
He has been booked under section 308 of IPC ie Attempt to commit culpable homicide. The crime was punishable by up to 7 years of jail term and fine. The case has been lodged in Umra police station.
4 students of class 6 of reputed Seven Days School in the city including two girls had sustained burn injuries in the sudden fire in the vehicle near BSNL office in Ghordod road at around 7 am yesterday.
