Kuwait’s leading low cost airline Jazeera Airways starts direct flight to Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad:

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low cost airline, operating regionally and internationally, has started its operations from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Addressing a press conference here today Andrew Ward, VP Marketing & Customer Experience of the airways said that Ahmedabad is the second of three new routes currently planned in to India, following the launch of flights in India from Hyderabad in November 2017. Flight J9 604 departed at 00.05am yesterday from Kuwait International Airport and landed in Ahmedabad at 06.00 am in the morning of January 17. The return flight J9 605 departed Ahmedabad at 06.45 am and arrived in Kuwait at 08.45am local time. Flights will operate initially three days a week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.’

He said that now Jazeera has become only the second airlines after Kuwait Airways to have direct flights between Kuwait and Ahmedabad. And our fares were great value fares and apart from that we are strong on time performance. We also provided good connectivity to other gulf countries and destinations like UAE, Dubai, Saudi etc. We have chosen Ahmedabad as our second destination for direct flight in India also because Gujarat has a sizeable Muslim population of around 10%. They frequently visit gulf countries as well as Iran and Iraq for pilgrimages. We now target a share of 50% of the direct Ahmedabad to Kuwait air traffic. The good thing was the first flight from Ahmedabad was a full one There were also a large number of frequent business community travelers on the route .’

He informed that first direct flight to Kochi also commenced today at 12:45pm from Kuwait to arrived at 20:10 pm. ‘Our next and fourth destination in India will be Mumbai but we can’t give you the exact time frame for that right now.’
