Artificial milk making gang busted in Gujarat, 2 nabbed

Busting a gang which supplied artificial chemical containing milk to a diary that supplied ‘Tulsi’ and ‘Mamta brand pouched milk in and around neighbouring Rajkot district’, the Local Crime Branch of Jamnagar police has arrested two persons from Kalawad area in this connection.

PSI of LCB Vishal Vagadiya today said that based on a tip off a raid was conducted on the house of one Jaisukh Patel in Chhatar village late last night. Jaisukh used to supply 1000 to 1200 liters of milk to one Giriraj Diary situated in Metoda GIDC area of Rajkot. The Diary use to supply around 7000 liters of milk in pouches of one and half liter in and around Rajkot. The doubt was created as Jaisukh was selling large quantity of milk without owing any milk producing cattle.

During the raid it was revealed that he used to mix soybean oil, water and some other chemical with milk powder in a mixer to make the artificial milk and supply it to the dairy. He and his aide Ramesh Patel a native of Jasapar village were nabbed. 15 cans of soybean oil each containing 15 kg of the oil, 250 kg of milk powder and 10 cans meant for supplying milk each of 40 liters capacity, mixer machine, a tanker and other items were recovered.

He said that a team of the Food and Drugs department from Rajkot was also investigating the matter.

He however said that so far the Diary has not been sealed.
