Udhna – Jalgaon double line project in final phase; Surat to benefit from it

Surat: A 306 km long Udhna-Jalgaon double line work is now in final phase. Entire 276 km line barring just 30 km on Dondaicha – Nandurbar stretch is ready. The double line project which was started in year 2009 is likely to complete within this financial year. The first train will be on track next week on this route for trial run. With completion of this line 35% of total 125 trains that pass through Surat railway station will be shifted to Udhna. They will be mostly the goods train. They will use the new double line track from Udhna. This will make it possible to utilize Surat railway station for other new trains.
