Body of yet another Asiatic lion found in Saurashtra region of Gujarat

Close on heels of the recovery of a dead lioness from a dried up river-bed in neighboring Junagadh district, the body of an Asiatic lion, seemingly thrown near a road-side, was also found in Dungar round of Rajula in Amreli district of Gujarat.
DCF Amreli Shakira Begum confirmed that the body of a lion was found from Dungar round in Rajula forest range of the district.
‘We are investigating the matter in detail,’ she said without divulging much details.
Meanwhile, informed sources said that the body of the lion, which might have died some time back was found lying near a road close to Kumbhariya Phatak in Dungar range. The body of the beast has stiffened.
The exact reason of death was not yet known. Apprehensions of it being killed and thrown there were also being expressed.
Earlier on February 18, the body of an Asiatic lioness was found on the bed of dried up rain-fed river Meghal near Zadka village in Maliya Hatina area of Junagadh district.
