Vadodara/Surat:

At least 5 youths drowned in two rivers in Gujarat on Dhuleti day today.

Police said that 3 youths two of whom were residents of Maharashtra died of drowning in river Tapi in Baudhan village under Mandvi Taluka of Surat district.Their bodies were later fished out of the river. They had gone to take bath in the river when one of them slept in deep water and two others also drowned while trying to save him.

In another such incident two other youths who had gone to take a bath in Narmada river in Poicha village of Narmada district in central Gujarat drowned and died.
They were residents of Padra area in neighbouring Vadodara district.
