New DGP for strict disciplinary action against cops who don’t wear uniform on duty

The New DGP of Gujarat, Shivanand Jha, known for his strict style of functioning, has issued order for action against such police officials and jawans who did not wear uniform during duty.
In a statement issued by his office today it has been said that the new DGP has taken note of many officers and other personnel not wearing proper uniform during duty.
He has ordered all the district/city/other units police chiefs to ensure that the officers/other personnel under them must wear proper uniform during duty hours.
He has asked them to regularly check it through supervisory officials. The DGP has also instructed them to take appropriate disciplinary action against those violating the uniform-code. The supervisory officials should also be taken to task in such cases.
He has also instructed for issuance of a circular to all the police stations and other police offices in this regard.
