Lalbapu ends 21-month solitude; Gujarat CM reaches his ashram

Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today attended a number of events lined up at Dhrama Sabha to mark the completion of 21 month’s solitude by Sant Lalbapu at Gayatri Ashram at Gadhethad in Upleta taluka.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rupani reiterated his government’s resolve to make Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel’s Gujarat addiction-free. He listed the number of steps his government has planned to promote pilgrimage centres in the state. He said that any person who denounces arms to embrace spirituality is revered. He asked people to come out of the narrow compartments of religion and spread the language of love, discipline and truth.

He said that Saurashtra known as the land of saints and valour became richer by the atonement by Lalbapu for the welfare of the people of Gujarat.

Lalbapu said that he undertook the solitude to absolve himself from any sin he might have committed unwittingly, being responsible for the death of many animals and insects, while performing 521 kundi yajna and repay the loans to donors. He thanked the state government for banning fishery in the Venu Dam-2.

Mr. Rupani accompanied by Minister of State Jayeshbhai Radadiya went around the Gayatri Ashram, photographic exhibition of Pradyumnasinh Jadeja on the theme ‘Rukhad Gahan Gufaoni Gunj’.

Those present on the occasion included lalbapu’s disciples Raju Bhagat and Daulat Bhagat, MLAs Govindbhai Patel, Gitaba Jadeja, Lalitbhai Vasoya, ex-Minister Chimanbhai Sapariya, ex-MLA Pravinbhai Makadia, Haribhai patel, Rajkot Dairy Chairman Govindbhai Ranparia, BJP District President D.K. Sakhiya, Collector Vikrant Pandey, Rajkot Rural SP Antarip Sood, Nitin Bharadwaj, Bhanubhai Mehta, anjaliben Rupani and DDO G.T. Pandya.
