To increase footfall, Army to organize 2 recruitment rallies in Gujarat before monsoon

Ahmedabad:

The Indian Army, which had seen record registrations for the two recruitment rallies in Gujarat during monsoon last year, was again going to hold two such rallies this year but as the actual footfall was affected adversely last time due to incessant rains coinciding with the rally dates, the army authorities, mindful of the possibilities, have meticulously planned the dates this year in April and May to obviate the risk of weather playing a spoilsport.

A statement by the Army today said, ” Riding the wave of record number of registrations for Indian Army Recruitment Rallies in the preceding two years in Gujarat, the stage is set for a healthy turnout yet again. The actual footfall having been affected adversely due to incessant rains coinciding with the Rally dates in the year 2017, the Army authorities, mindful of the possibilities, have meticulously planned the dates this year to obviate the risk of weather playing a spoilsport.”

”The first one for youngsters belonging to the districts of Saurashtra, Kutchh and Diu is planned to be held in the Saurashtra University Grounds Rajkot from 26 Apr to 05 May 2018. Online registrations for this Rally started on 25 Feb and shall continue till 10 Apr 2018,” the statement said.

The second rally covering the 21 districts of North, Central and Southern Gujarat plus Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli is scheduled to be held from 20 May to 29 May 2018 at the SRP Ground Godhra. Online registrations for this rally shall be open from 21 Mar to 04 May 2018, it said.
