Local court in Gandhidham of Gujarat awards capital punishment to girl

Gandhidham:
A local court in Gandhidham town of Kutch district in Gujarat today awarded capital punishment (punishment of death) to a girl who had killed her murder and sister with the blows of sword and injured another sister in cold blooded manner almost a year ago.
Additional Sessions Judge D R Bhatt awarded the punishment to one Manjuben (around 19 years old). She had hacked her mother Rajiben (60) and sister Aarti (27) on February 17, 2017 in Navi Sundaripuri area here.
According to prosecution her mother had rebuked her for not doing some house-hold chores. After which she had an altercation with the mother who had slapped her.
Manju had planned a deadly revenge in cold blooded manner. She kept quiet after that as if she had forgotten the incident. But in the early morning of the fateful day, when she was sleeping with her mother and two sisters and her brother Vijay was sleeping outside the house, She got up and attacked her sleeping mother and two sisters with sword. Her mother and sister died in Rambagh hospital here.
She was overpowered by the neighbours and handed over to police.
The court terming it rarest of rare incident awarded capital punishment to her under section 302 and five year jail term under section 307 of the IPC.
