Ahmedabad student scores Perfect 1000 in GATE

Ahmedabad: A twenty-year-old final-year student of Computer Science, Bhargav Thankey of Ahmedabad brought laurels to the city today by scoring a perfect 1000/1000 in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). His All India Rank 4 implies Bhargav can walk into any college of his choosing to do his Post Graduation, but his dream is to study Computer Theory at IISc. Bangalore.

A classroom student of ICE GATE institute in Ahmedabad, Bhargav ,who loves listening to country music, especially, John Denver in his free time, shared that he owed his success to his parents, his college teachers, and the “absolutely awesome” faculty at I.C.E. When asked about his mantra of success, Bhargav explained, “I started preparing for some subjects straight away after joining I.C.E in 2016. For my favorite subjects, as soon as it was completed in class, I solved questions on it that were asked in previous GATE exams. For others, I used reference books and notes.”

This year, the GATE exam was conducted by IIT Guwahati on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. It is estimated that more than 8.5 lakh students sat for the exam, held across 23 different disciplines of Engineering.
