22 MoUs signed in Civil Aviation sector in last two vibrant Gujarat summits, 19 of them in initial stage: Gujarat govt

Gandhinagar: Out of 22 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) signed during year 2015 and 2017 Vibrant Gujarat Global summits in Civil Aviation sector, 19 are in initial phase while one is functional.
This detail was given by Civil Aviation minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama in his reply in the Gujarat Assembly.
Chudasama said, ’10 MoUs worth Rs 5,426 crore were signed in Civil Aviation sector in Vibrant Gujarat Global summit in year 2015, while in 2017 edition of summit, 12 MoUs were signed. 8 of 10 MoUs of year 2015 and 11 of 12 MoUs of year 2017 are in initial stage while 1 is implemented.’
He said the cities like Porbandar, Mundra, Bhavnagar, Surat, Jamnagar, Diu and pilgrim places such as Palitana and Somnath are connected through the Central government scheme for regional connectivity. A world class airport in 1426 ha land will be set up near Navagam in Dholera Special Investment Region(SIR), he added.
