NCB nabs Nigerian lady from train in Vadodara with drugs worth over Rs 80 lakhs

Less than a fortnight of recovery of Heroin from a Nigerian man from a train at Vadodara station, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has again seized drugs worth over Rs 80 lakhs from a Nigerian lady from yet another train here.

NCB zonal director Hari Om Gandhi said that a team of the bureau caught one Nigerial lady named Ehimen Ruth ( 25), travelling in a sleeper coach of train Number 12450(NDLS -Madgoan) Goa Sampark Kranti when train reached Vadodara railway station at about 2120hrs last night.

Two boxes of DOMINO’s biscuit was found in her baggage which contained packets wrapped with brown scotch tap in each packet box. These packets contained white crystal form substances in each of packets. The substances were tested with drug detection kit which resulted positive for Amphetamine. The total weight of the seized drug was 404 gm worth around Rs 80 lakhs, he said.

The lady had boarded the train from Delhi and was to deliver the drugs to another Nigerian man in Mumbai.

Earlier on March 7 the NCB had nabbed a Nigerian man from Mumbai bound Rajdhani express in Vadodara with Heroin worth around Rs six crores.

It had caught another member of Nigerian drug racket from Garibrath Express on Ahmedabad station in June last year with drugs (Cocaine and Amphetamine ) worth six crores. Prior to that another Nigerian was nabbed from Goa bound Radhani express in Vadodara with similar drugs worth over 2 crores.
