Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat will hold 2 state level mega job fair, 5 cluster level job fair and 200 GIDC(Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation)estate wise job fair along with job fairs for Army, Air Force and Navy recruitment.

This announcement was made by Labour and Employment minister Dilip Thakor in Gujarat Assembly today.

Thakor said the year 1995 rule of compulsory 60% recruitment in supervisor/manager level and 85% recruitment in worker level for locals is followed by companies in Gujarat. Implementation of this rule is reviewed twice every year. District collectors hold meeting with district employment advisory committee after every two months to ensure that this rule is followed. As on December 2017, 5172 of 5233 major private manufacturing units have been found following this rule.

He said, the government last year organized 609 industrial recruitment fairs in which 2,81,636 candidates were selected for job. In 12 cluster mega job fairs, 1,09,520 candidates were recruited. In 33 district wise sector specific job fairs and women’s recruitment fairs, 30,011 candidates were selected for job.
