Veraval:

A group of people today set ablaze a car near Dari toll plaza on Veraval-Junagadh road in which over half a dozen cow-calves were allegedly being taken away for butchering.

Police said that some locals got information about cow-calves being taken away in a car for butchering. The crowd stopped the car in which 8 calves were found stuffed in the dicky and the rear seat.

Enraged people burnt the car. The youth Afzal who was driving the car has been taken to the police station.

The matter was under investigation, PI Prabhas Patan J B Chavda said.
