Development works totaling Rs.256-crore inaugurated or started in and around Rajkot

Rajkot: Various development works totaling Rs.256-crore were inaugurated or started construction in Rajkot today in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani.

They included Rs.80-crore regional science centre, DI Pipeline as part of District Garden, Rs.30.12-crore Machhunagar Awas Yojna, Rs.5.94-crore Chandranagar Zone water metre supply and maintenance project, Rs.33.88-crore PM Awas Yojna at Mavdi, Rs.5.24-crore fire and emergency solid management, new bus stand, a 10-acre lake in new race course, new GIDC Estate as part of new town planning, and earlier new airport in and around Rajkot city. An MoU was signed with Airport Authority for purchasing five electric buses, distributed prizes to winners of quiz, certificates to participants of Marathon-2018. He released a booklet on Rs.256-crore development works.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rupani said the government will ensure the people of Rajkot do not face water cut during summer up to July.

At the state level, Mr. Rupani said thousands of lakes and ponds will be deepened or dug, 34 rivers will be rejuvenated and cleansed, repair check dams across the state as part of ‘Jal Abhiyan’ from May 1 to 31, 2018, to be followed up with weekly review. The government will construct four regional science centres and sports complexes.

Rupani lays stone of Rs.80-crore Regional Science Centre near Rajkot

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today performed ground breaking ceremony of Regional Science Centre to be built a 10-accre plot at a cost of Rs.80-crore near Madhapar Ishwariya Park on the outskirts of Rajkot.

This regional museum is being set up for dissemination of research and development in various fields of science and technology. It will have glass and ceramics, machine, robotics, Nobel laureates’ and life sciences galleries to inculcate scientific temper among students.
