Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has through the department of Ports and Moor Transport, fixed the fare of auto rickshaws.

-Urban area: Rs 15 for 1.2 km and later Rs 2 per every half km.

– No charge for luggage below 15 kg weight. Re. 1 per each article beyond 15 kg. Maximum permitted luggage 60 kg.

– Luggage must not be hanged outside the rickshaw body.

– 1.5 time fare for journey outside the urban or municipality limit.

– Re. 1 waiting charge for every five minute period beyond first 5 minutes.

– Maximum waiting period one hour within the city and two hours outside the city area.

– 50% surcharge on fare between 11.00 pm to 5.00 am.
