One dead amid heat-wave in parts of Saurashtra-Kutch in Gujarat, Kandala Airport hottest at 42.6º C

Ahmedabad:

One person reportedly died of sun-stroke in Bhavnagar district today even as severe heat wave and heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Saurashtra-Kutch region of Gujarat.

Kandla with 42.6 º C remained hottest across the state on second consecutive day today.

Ahmedabad recorded 41.4 º C which was 1.6 º C above normal. Dry Northerly to Northwesterly winds were responsible for the heat-wave conditions.

An around 65 year old farm-worker Mavji Khambhalia died of heat/sun-stroke in Agiyali village under Sihor taluka of Bhavnagar district. He fainted while wroking in a field in the sun.

Though the met bulletin has not issued any fresh heat-wave warning for tomorrow yet it seems that there won’t be any respite from high temperatures in the next 2 to 3 days as no large change in temperatures have been forecast during the period. Though there will be gradual rise in temperatures after next 2 to 3 days.
