CM Rupani lays foundation stone for Rs 800 crore public works in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, April 25, 2018: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today stated that with willingness of the state government to utilize the taxes paid by the common man to provide optimum civic amenities to the citizen has taken the development of Gujarat to new height at the national level.

The Chief Minister laying foundation stones for the people oriented developmental works worth of Rs. 800-crore at a function held at River Front in Ahmedabad city this evening, Mr. Rupani said that the state government is ensuring that no developmental project should be hampered due to lack of funds. No force can shun the developmental journey of the state.

At the function, Chief Minister distributed ‘Permanent Appointment Letter’ to 6,000-odd safai kammacharis of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). He also made allocation of 2,805 houses made under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme at a cost of Rs. 200-crore in New Western Zone, Central Zone, and Eastern Zone. He also made a draw for 2,849 houses to be made at a cost of Rs. 200-croe in New Western Zone and Southern Zone. For the applicants, who have been left out from the allocation of the house in this draw, would be included in 2500 new houses to be built in next three months, he added.

The foundation stones laid by the Chief Minister for projects included sewage treatment plant with 155 mld capacity at Pirana, split flyover on Naroda-Narol road, pump house with 9.20 million liter capacity along with underground water tank at Khadia ward, foot-over bridge at a cost of Rs. 75-crore on Sabarmati river, and others.
