Surat:

One person died and another injured in a fire in a private dyeing factory in Pandesara area of the city today.

Chief Fire Officer of Surat Vasant Parik said that a fire broke out in Vasant Fabrics Private Ltd due to unknown reasons.

After the fire was controlled and cooling was done, when the firemen entered the factory they saw two workers suffocated owing to smoke inside, he added.

One of them identified as one Panditbhai (60) expired in the civil hospital while another one of around 55 years of age has been admitted in the hospital.

The damage caused by fire to factory has not yet been estimated.
