Gandhinagar: The government of Gujarat has given status equivalent to Indian Administrative Service(IAS) cadre to several posts in government owned companies and local bodies.

According to a statement issued by the General Administrative Department(GAD) of State government,

Posts equivalent to Additional Secretaries:

– Managing Director of Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd Mehsana

– Municipal Commissioners of Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar Municipal Corporations

– Commissioner of Municipalities

– State Project Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan

– Director of Primary Education

– Relief Commissioner

Posts equivalent to Joint Secretary status

– CEO of D-Sag (Development Support Agency of Gujarat)

– Municipal Commissioner of Junagadh Municipal Corporation

– Deputy Commissioner of Amdavad Municipal Corporation

– Managing Director of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd

The post of head of the Medical Services Corporation Ltd has been declared equivalent to Deputy Secretary.
