Jamnagar:

A police constable today attacked the wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja here this evening and injured her after verbal argument over minor accident between Mrs. Jadeja’s BMW car and constable’s two wheeler. The constable has been arrested.




SP Jamnagar Pradip Shejul said that the bike of constable Sanjay Karanjia had an accident with the four wheeler of Jadeja’s wife Rivaba this evening.

‘After that the constable had an altercation with the lady and he attacked and injured her. Rivaba had suffered bruises on her body. The constable with ‘C’ division police station has been arrested and a complaint against him under section 324 and 354 of the IPC has been lodged,’ the SP said.

An eyewitness who intervened to ‘rescue’ Rivaba from constable said the constable had gripped Rivaba by holding her hairs and Rivaba was bleeding when left the place of incident.

Rivaba’s black BMW car was seen slightly damage from the front side. As per the eyewitness, the constable was driving his two-wheeler in wrong side.




Notably, Jamnagar is the home town of Jadeja. His family lives in Rajkot and Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, some of the onlookers said that the policeman attacked Rivaba and people had to come to help her out. They caught the policeman who was arrested after the complaint by Rivaba.

Jadeja is currently with the Chennai Superkings team for playing IPL 11.
