Normal to Severe heat-wave in parts of Gujarat, Surendranagar record near 46°C temperature

Ahmedabad:
Severe to normal heat-wave conditions prevailed in many parts of North Gujarat, Saurashra and Kutch region today with rise in temperatures and at least 8 places in the state seeing mercury reaching at or above 44 °C.
Surendranagar with near 46 °C (45.7 °C to be precise) temperature and sizzling hotness remained hottest. Deesa in North Gujarat was second hottest with maximum temperature of 45.2 °C while Ahmedabad, Idar and Kandla Airport with similar highest of 44.6 °C were at joint third in this regard.
The met department has also issued high temperature/heat-wave warning for tomorrow which says, ‘ HEAT WAVE CONDITION VERY LIKELY TO PREVAIL IN MANY PARTS OF NORTH GUJARAT REGION, KUTCH WITH SEVERE HEAT WAVE CONDITION IN PARTS OF KUTCH.’
In Ahmedabad, the maximum temperature was 2.9° C above normal.
