Spells of scattered light rain/thundershowers at isolated places in South Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch likely in 4 days starting tomorrow

Ahmedabad:

Scattered spells of light rain/thundershowers at isolated places in the districts of south Gujarat region, Saurashtra-Kutch and in the adjoining union territories of Diu, Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli for four days beginning tomorrow has been predicted by met department.

Meanwhile, rain lashed Panshina village and around in Limbadi taluka of Surendranagar district giving some respite from the hot weather in the district which despite drop in temperatures was still the hottest place in the state today. The electricity supply in the area was affected owing to rain accompanied with strong winds.

The downward trend of mercury continued today as well due to partly cloudy sky at several places and moist South Westerly to Westerly winds.

In the next two days the maximum temperatures are likely to remain in the range of 40 to 43°C.

Owing to rise in humidity in the air and pre-monsoon activities, scattered spell of light rain/thundershowers are likely to be witnessed for coming four days in South Gujarat and some other parts of the state.

Today several parts of the state saw further drop in maximum temperatures. Surendranagar at 43.8°C was hottest. Ahmedabad with a maximum of 41.6°C was slightly below normal.
