Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has today declared total ban with effect from 5 June 2018 on use, storage and manufacturing of

– Plastic cups used to serve tea-coffee by hawkers

– Plastic pouches containing water and

– Plastic wrappers used for Pan/masala packing

On direction of municipal commissioner, ward supervisory staff carried out checking drive and seized 344 kg banned plastic. The AMC staff collected Rs 3,48,430 administrative charge as fine and issued 1052 notices. The AMC teams also sealed 39 units that include plastic firm, pan shops, provision shops, food stalls, vegetable market, vegetable and fruit shop and tea stall.
