Possession of land for service building of Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan taken

Bharuch: Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd(SSNNL) staff took possession of land for construction of service building of Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan in Kevadia Colony. About 80 police men gave security cover to SSNNL team. According to incharge police sub inspector of Kevin Mr. MB Vasava, the L&T company is constructing the Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan, a residential facility for tourists who would visit the tallest statue of the world – the statue of unity here. Possession of land for construction of service building was taken amid protest by some locals who want government job and more compensation for the land they lost for construction of Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan. Police detained 8 women and 6 gents who were protesting. A wall was demolished using JCB machine and possession was taken. The government is working on war foot basis to complete the project of Statue of Unity before 31st October which is the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – the iron man of India.
