Rupani to launch Shala Praveshotsav-2018 for urban areas on Friday from Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will launch the state-wide Shala Praveshotsav for urban areas on Friday, June 22, 2018 for enrolling children in Class 1 in 1,277 Primary Schools and in Class IX in 1,550 Secondary Schools in the state.
Mr. Rupani will launch the two-day school enrollment drivefrom RG KanyaVidyalaya at Gandhinagar at 9 a.m.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel will lead the enrolment drive from Mehsana District. Other Ministers and heads of statutory Boards and Corporations, 57 party office-bearers, 37 IAS, 29 IPS, 6 IFS (forest) and other employees will fan out in different parts of the state for the drive.
Incidentally, the Shala Praveshotsav for rural areas on June 14 and 15 last, enrolling 2.21-lakh toddlers in Anganwadis, 4.68-lakh children in Class 1 in Primary Schools, and in 1,550 Secondary Schools in the state. The children to be enrolled in primary schools include 2,226 Divyang (physically challenged).
The drive launched in 2002-03 for admission to Primary Schools and Anganwadis has resulted in 99.15 per cent eligible children being on roll. The state government in a renewed innovation, decided to launch the drive for enrollment in Class IX also from this year.
