ED attaches assets worth around 4 crore of J M Patel in Jamnagar land usurping case

Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth Rs3.97 crore in the form of 24 properties (plots and flats) and Bank balance of Jaysukh alias Jayesh Muljibhai Ranpariya Patel and his associates in a case related to usurping of land in Jamnagar , an official release of the ED today said.

The Central probe agency move under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) comes after the registration of two FIR by the Jamnagar Police in November 2016 against Jaysukh Patel and others.

The FIRs alleged that Jaysukh Patel had usurped two properties of the complainants whose market value is Rs 135 crore, in the name of his associates by the way of making fake power of attorney of the complainants in the name of associates of Jaysukh.
Later, Patel settled the matter with the complainants in lieu of Rs 7 crore which were credited in the accounts of associates of Jaysukh Patel.

A number of FIRs are already registered against Patel at various Police Stations in the similar cases. Through this modus-operandi, he said to have been amassed huge properties.

The properties attached include 24 properties (plot and flats) of Jaysukh Patel whose market value is around Rs 4.5 crore.
“The bank deposits of Chandrakant Vallabhbhai Sanghani, Jaman Devjibhai Moliya, Pravin Purshottambhai Chovatiya and Mayur Maganbhai Sabhaya totalling to around Rs 3 crore have also been attached by the ED. All these four are associates of Jaysukh Patel”, ED release said.
