Chief Minister Rupani on two-day visit to Rajkot attends number of function, launches Rs 175 crore projects

Rajkot: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today gifted developmental projects worth of Rs. 175-crore to Rajkot city. During his visit to Rajkot city Mr. Rupani inaugurated and dedicated developmental projects to the people.

Addressing a public meeting there, Mr. Rupani said that his government is taking necessary steps to fulfil the pledge of Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi’s to provide homes to everyone by 2022. As a part of this, 17,500 houses have been provided to residents in Rajkot city alone, so far. While another 6,000 houses are under construction. The government is not just providing houses but also providing amenities like electricity, water, sewerage, roads and others.

To provide drinking water from sea waters to Rajkot city, the government is setting up desalination plant at a cost of Rs. 700-crore at Jodia. Under the Ujwala Yojna, to make the cooking smoke free for the women, the government has chalked out a plan to provide gas cylinder to 24-lakh beneficiaries in Gujarat. Of them, so far, 15-lakh gas cylinders have already been provided to the beneficiaries.

On the occasion, the chief minister also distributed house-keys and gas cylinders to the beneficiaries, and appointment letters to youths covered under Apprentice Scheme.

It is essential to use technology for public welfare works: Rupani

Rupani today asserted that it is very essential that the technology should be used for public welfare works. He also emphasised that it is a basic responsibility of the news media to ensure that they present not only news but truth also before the people.

He was speaking at function organised to launch a mobile application of Abtak Media House at Rajkot city.

Mr. Rupani pointed out that using the technology the state government was marching ahead in the direction of making Gujarat as “Zero Tolerance Corruption Free’. With a view to bring transparency in the administration all the officials procedures are being made online.

Rupani visits ‘Mahatma Gandhi Realization Centre’ being built at Mahatma Gandhi Vidhyala

Rupani today visited and reviewed in details the ongoing works at the ‘Mahatma Gandhi Realization Centre’, which is being built at Mahatma Gandhi Vidhyalaya, where the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi had studied, in Rajkot city. The Centre is going to become a medium to spread Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Life Message’ to the world.

Mr. Rupani also instructed to ensure that the Centre covers all the important and inspiring happenings of the life of Bapu. He also emphasised that the construction works should be done in a manner that it maintains the historical moments of the school.

The chief minister also reviewed a film made with 3-D mapping on life of Mahatma. He was also apprised that at this stage the project is being developed in 40 rooms.

‘Smart City Schemes’ are initiated to face challenges poise by urbanization: Rupani

Rupani today inaugurated ‘National Level – Smart City Summit’ held at Rajkot. He termed it as a vital step towards making Rajkot city as the ‘Smart City.’

Mr. Rupani opined that the Smart City Schemes (SCS) are initiated to take up the challenges being poised by the leap bound urbanizations. He stated that the state government is dedicated to the aphorisms of “Jaya Manvi, Taya Suvidha” (Amenities at the door step of the Humans) and “Vytha Ne Badle Vyvastha” (Management instead of Affliction).

The Chief Minister emphasised that just having infrastructural facilities are not sufficient enough in the present time of smart era, but, in fact it should also hike the Happiness Index of the cities. In achieving this mammoth task, he also sought total cooperation from the citizens.

Referring tothat the urbanization in Gujarat has crossed the mark of 45 %; Rupani stated that the top level growth can be achieved by the state only through the development of cities and towns. The best policy is to preserve the old and develop the new things, he added.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s determination to coordinate the technologies with the infrastructural facilities to provide online management to the common citizens for bringing total transparency and completeness in the administration. The new technology based system would issue a new passport within two days, imposing fine on same day for throwing waste anywhere, he said and added that developmental projects worth of Rs. 2000-crore for Raiya TP Scheme.

Rupani launched website for ‘Smart City’. He also inaugurated 145 KV solar system for Aji Water Filter Plant and master plan for Raiya Smart City. He also released ‘e-Government’ magazine. He also viewed documentary made on ‘Smart City.’

In the presence of Mr. Rupani, ‘elets smart city’ was organized in two phases at the Atal Bihari auditorium. The programme was attended by ‘Smart city’ experts.

Later, the Chief Minister dedicated to the people newly constructed ‘B-Division’ police station at Pedak Road and Police Station at Kuvadva Road, built at cost of Rs. 198-lakh and Rs. 250-lakh, respectively, by Gujarat State Police Housing Nigam, in Rajkot.

Make Gujarat upfront in spirituality: Rupani

Rupani today asserted that Gujarat is a leading state in infrastructure and industrial development, similarly it should be made front runner in spirituality to provide right path to the future generations.

He was speaking at a function organized by Royal Park Stha. Jain Mota Sangh to celebrate the Chaturmass of Ratan Pujaya Gurudev Shree Shushantmuni Maharaj Saheb, Rastra Sant Pujaya Gurudev Shree Namra Muni Maharaj Saheb and others at Rajkot. He also unveiled the plaque of C. M. Paushad Shala.

The Chief Minister further stated that it is the responsibility of state to take care of all living beings as it is a Rajdharma. The world has accepted the Bhagwan Mahaveer Swami’s principle of non-violence.

Rupani also pointed out that Gujarat had taken lead in formulating the prevention of cow slaughtering act. For taking care of animals, the state government has initiated 1962 helpline and ambulance services in each district for the prompt medical services to the animals, birds, etc.

The Chief Minister said that to prevent the road accidents of sadhus, saints and sadhvijis, who are on ‘pad-yatra’, the state government has commenced to build ‘pagdandi’ (walking track) between Palitana and Vallabhipur at a cost of Rs. 250-crore. And second project covers roads between Shankheshwar and Ahmedabad.

The Chief Minister was invited to attend the Savantsari Dharmik programme to be in near future. At this programme, 11,000 devotees would make mass prayers to create a record for Guinee’s Book of Record.

Rupani greets people of Kutch on AsadhiBij, resolves to make Kutch an Eden Garden, comparable to Israel

Rajkot: Rupani extended his greetings to the people of Kutch, KuchchiMadus, in Gujarat on the occasion of their New Year AsadhiBij.

Speaking at a New Year celebration function at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium at Rajkot, he firmly resolved to make Kutch, surrounded by the Rann, into an Eden Garden. The State Government will spare no stone unturned to realise his resolve.

Given the Kuchchi peoples’ resilience and determination to rise from the debris of the unprecedented earthquake and Kuchchis settled in different parts of the world coming to the aid of their homeland, Mr. Rupani exuded confidence that they would make it. He referred to the contribution of freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Verma. He also referred to the foundation laying ceremony of Hanumanji Temple on the borders of the Kutch.

Referring to his recent visit to Israel, he said that Kutch has similarities with Israel and he will try to develop Kutch to the lines of Israel.

Rupani presented mementos and citations to meritorious students and successful citizens of BhanushaliSamaj on the occasion. Their leader SureshbhaiKatarmal welcomed the Chief Minister.
