Gandhinagar:

CM Vijay Rupani today said that his government tolerate any type of wrong-doing or scam and none of the culprits of the groundnut soil mixing case of Saurashtra would be spared.

Talking to newsmen here on the occasion of Inauguration of Garvi Gujarat Buyer Seller meet, Rupani said that already 4 people, the office bearers of a cooperative society in Maliya Hatina area have been nabbed in connection with the mixing of soil in groundnut sacks procured at MSP and kept in a godown in Pedhala of Jetpur taluka in Rajkot district. The other four accused have fled and attempts to nab them at the earliest were on.

He said that of the total procurement of 10 lakh tonnes , NAFED has already sold around 4.5 lakh tonnes and no mixing has been found in that lot. The total money paid for groundnut procurement in the state this time was Rs 4000 crore then how the opposition is claiming that the alleged groundnut scam was of the tune of Rs 5000. How is it possible.

He said that the probe was ordered soon after the information about the mixing of soil incident in Pedhla.

‘Whoever has done wrong won’t be spared. Be the culprit from BJP or congress, no one would be spared. The Investigation has been handed over to a senior IPS officer,’ he said.
