Gujarat BJP postpones its State Executive meeting fifth time this year

Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has once again postponed its scheduled meeting of State executive. The party today conveyed that it has postponed its state executive meeting which was scheduled to be held on 24-25 August in Surat.

It is learnt that this decision had to be taken as party’s national executive meeting was also postponed due to passing away of party’s founder and former prime minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. State executive meeting is generally convened after national executive meeting is concluded.

Gujarat BJP has postponed the State executive meeting number of times during this year after reelection to assembly in December 2017.

The state executive meeting was first scheduled on 11-12 April in Surat, the second largest city of Gujarat. It was however later postponed to 22-23 April due to nationwide dharna programme given by central leadership on 12 April against opposition stalling parliament.

Later, 22-23 April meeting was also postponed.

Last month, an announcement was made by state party president that state executive meeting will now be held on 11 August at State party headquarters ‘Kamalam’ in Gandhinagar. However this meeting was again postponed to 24-25 August and location was changed to Surat.

Now again the State executive meeting has been postponed.
