Enforcement Officer of EPFO caught taking bribe from contractor in Gujarat

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed an officer of Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) from the EPFO office here along with his broker accepting a bribe of Rs 60 thousand from a contractor.
In-charge Assistant Director ACB, Rajkot, K H Gohil said that the complainant a contractor with the Enforcement Officer (class-3) of EPFO Mahendra Kumar D Shivhare (41) had sought Rs one lakh as bribe from a contractor with Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) for non-imposition of penalty on his firm during audit of EPF of his employees. He later agreed to take Rs 60 thousand for the same.
The ACB today laid a trap and caught him with his broker Mayur P Makwana (30) taking the bribe from the complainant in his office. Makwana was accepting the bribe on his behalf.
