Let Congress clear its stand on main demand of agitators which is quota in OBC category: Vaghani
August 28, 2018
Gandhinagar: State BJP chief Jitu Vaghani today addressing the media asked opposition Congress party to reply whether it supports the demand of inclusion of a (Patidar) community in Other Backward Class(OBC) reserved quota.
Vaghani said, ‘BJP stand is clear that reservation quota of SC/ST/OBC should be intact. Those agitating are demanding quota in OBC category which is not permitted by the Supreme Court. Congress, its MLAs and those from other parties and states who claim to have extended support to agitators should make their stand clear regarding the main demand of agitators, which is reservation quota in OBC category. Let the community know, let the ST/SC/OBC also know, what is their stand.’
Vaghani pointed out that 8-page memorandum of Congress, presented to Governor a day ago had no mention of even a word ‘reservation’. He said the alliance of Congress with others has exposed.
Slamming opposition Congress party, Vaghani recalled how Baba Ramdev’s agitation camp in Delhi was attacked by Congress led UPA government.
