72,000 joined government service, another 17,000 to join this year: Rupani at Kalol Mega Job Fair

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today called for synchronising Manufacturing Sector with Service Sectorlike hospitality, banking and security for creating more jobs for the youth.

He said the youth should be considered as asset of the nation and it is for the government to provide appropriate ‘job for every hand’. India is the world’s most youthful nation in the world with youth in the 18-35 age group comprising 55 per cent of India’s total population. The government arranges job fairs every year to create jobs by MSME in GIDC Estates and other agencies at local level.

Rupani was speaking at Mega Job Fair jointly organised by Kalol Taluka Kelavani Mandal and Gujarat University at the I.C. Patel English Medium School’s newly constructed auditorium at Kalol in Gandhinagar district.

He said that Gujarat is Number One State providing jobs for the last 15 years, alone creating 74,000 jobs through employment exchanges, including 72,000 government jobs last year, and 17,000 this year. The state’s Garment and Apparel Policy ensures job for women on a payroll of Rs.4,000. The state’s Education Policy is reoriented to make it job-oriented. He gave a detailed account of Raksha Shakti and Petroleum Universities.

Those who spoke on the occasion included GIDC Chairman Balwantsinh Rajput, Gujarat University Vice Chancellor Himanshu Pandya, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce past-President ShaileshPatwari and Kelavani Mandal President PrafulbhaiTalsania.

Those present on the occasion included MLAs BaldevjiThakor and Sureshbhai, GCCI President Jaimin Vasa, Madhur Dairy Chairman Shankarsinh Rana and trustees.
