NCB nabs 2 with Rs 55 lakh Charas in Jamnagar, one caught with 10 kg poppy straw in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Nacotics Control Bureau (NCB) has nabbed two persons in connection with seizure of Charas worth around 55 lakh in Jamnagar city of Gujarat.
The NCB also formally arrested another man caught by the railway protection force in Maningar area of the city with around 10 kg poppy straw used to make opium.
NCB zonal director Hari Om Gandhi said that based on specific input that a person named Arun Manjre aged 55 yrs is coming with 5 Kg. Charas in bus boarded from Jaipur and he would deliver it to a person based at Jamnagar; NCB Ahmedabad formed two teams One at Ahmedabad and one at Jamnagar. Manjre cleverley switched off his main mobile and thus could not be traced at Ahmedabad and talked with Receiver from other phone only when he reached Rajkot. Immediately the other team was alerted and he was apprehended while he was delivering 5 kg Charas in JAMNAGAR to a 15 year old Boy who was sent by receiver to take delivery and was unaware of stuff inside. On interrogating the Juvenile, he told about name and address of Receiver. Today , With the help of Local Crime Branch the receivers house search was conducted and he was also apprehended by NCB Ahmedabad.The receiver’s name is Mamad Ali Mandalia and he has criminal Back ground and already bears IPC charges Section 302 and 305 on him in previous cases. Further investigation is in progress.
About Poppy straw incidnet he said that yesterday NCB Ahmedabad took over one suspected person and his bag carrying 10.100 Kg. poppy straw from R.P.F Maninagar Post, Ahmedabad. They found this suspect during regular patrolling and apprehended him based on suspisious activities. On checking his bag they saw strong smelling substance Poppy Straw weighing about 10 Kg. The accused belongs to Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
