PM Modi to inaugurate Sardar Patel Medical Institute in VS hospital campus of Ahmedabad in early 2019

Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC) run Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel medical institute will be inaugurated by in Vadilal Sarabhai(VS) hospital campus in Ahmedabad in the beginning of year 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani here today.

Rs 582 crore hospital is being constructed for last few years. A new 78-meter high state-of-the-art hospital facility was conceived when Narendra Modi will Chief Minister of State. Modi wanted this public hospital to offer same kinds of services like any top class private hospital. He had wished new hospital building to match the standards of best possible private hospital. He had asked to execute the hospital project looking at future needs of at least 50 years. It is the state government that has given financial aid for this project of AMC.

Total area of this 17-storey hospital will be 1.49 lakh square ft. It will have 1200 bed, capacity to treat 1500 patients at one time, 200 bed capacity in special rooms, 139 Intensive Care Unit(ICU) bed, 32 operation theaters, waiting area for 1500 persons in OPD, 38 consulting rooms, digital token system, medical, nursing and physiotherapy colleges etc facilities.

Air lifted patient will be taken right atop the hospital building, for which helipad has been constructed there.

7.5 mw power sub station, 1400 km wiring, 600 cctv cameras, 6,000 computer points, 25 high speed lifts, 2,000 tonne AC plant, medicine and blood sample transfer through pneumatic tube, 155 km drainage and water line, 25 km medical gas line, parking capacity for 2,000 cars are other highlights of this project.

According to city municipal commissioner Vijay Nehra, construction of hospital building is over. Medical services will be in offering in a new building from early next year.
